# The Bermuda Triangle (DD-079)

> The Bermuda Triangle, also called the Devil's Triangle, is a loosely defined area of the western North Atlantic roughly bounded by Miami, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. It became famous for stories of ships and aircraft that vanished, often with supernatural explanations. The U.S. Coast Guard does not recognize it as a special hazard, and studies have found that losses there are not more frequent than in other busy waters.
