Destroyer
Short answer: The Arleigh Burke class is a class of guided-missile destroyers in the US Navy. The lead ship, USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51), was commissioned in 1991, and more than 70 have been commissioned since, making it one of the longest-running destroyer production programs.
The ships are built around the Aegis Combat System and its SPY-1 phased-array radar, and they're designed for air defense, anti-submarine warfare and land attack. The class is named after Admiral Arleigh Burke, a destroyer commander in the Second World War who later served as Chief of Naval Operations.
