Exceptionally Emerald!

Short answer: Emerald is the green variety of the mineral beryl, colored by traces of chromium and sometimes vanadium. Its name comes, via Old French and Latin, from the Greek smaragdos, 'green gem'.

Colombia is the world's largest producer, and its Muzo mine is famous for fine emeralds. Most emeralds have inclusions, nicknamed 'jardin' (French for garden) for their mossy look, and these are widely accepted. The footage shows rough and cut emeralds, with the presenter.
