Stay Pressed

Short answer: Sunflower oil is extracted from seeds by pressing, solvent extraction or both. In cold pressing, a screw (expeller) press squeezes the seeds while keeping temperatures low, the Reel says below 50 °C, to preserve flavor and nutrients, yielding a natural, unrefined oil.

Hot pressing and refining give higher yields. The footage, credited to explainingtheuniverse, shows oil flowing from a screw press.
